What Can You Use a Residential Dumpster For?
Any project that creates more junk than your trash cans can handle. Here are the most common residential uses.
Home & Estate Cleanouts
Clearing out a home before selling, after an estate sale, or between tenants? We drop a bin, you fill it at your own pace, and we haul it away — no trips to the dump required.
Bathroom & Kitchen Remodels
Demo day creates a mountain of drywall, tile, cabinets, and fixtures. A 15 or 20 yard dumpster sits in your driveway and disappears when the job is done.
Garage, Attic & Basement Purges
Reclaim your space. Fill a dumpster with old furniture, broken appliances, boxes, and anything else you've been meaning to throw out for years.
Yard Waste & Landscaping
Pruned trees, pulled shrubs, sod, topsoil, and brush fill up fast. Reserve a bin for your yard project and clear it all in one haul. (No mixed loads with heavy concrete.)

Frequently Asked Questions
- What size dumpster do I need for a home cleanout?
- For a single room or small garage cleanout, a 15-yard is usually enough. For a full basement, attic, or whole-house cleanout, go with a 20 or 30-yard. When in doubt, size up — an oversized dumpster is much cheaper than ordering a second one.
- Can I put yard waste in a residential dumpster?
- Yes — branches, shrubs, sod, and landscaping debris are fine. However, do not mix heavy concrete, bricks, or dirt with general waste. Those materials need a dedicated concrete bin and will trigger overweight fees in a standard container.
- What happens if I go over the weight limit?
- You'll be charged $55 per extra ton. We always disclose this upfront. If you're unsure how heavy your load is, call us and we'll help you estimate or recommend the right size.
- Can you deliver to my driveway without damaging it?
- Yes. Our drivers are experienced placing containers on driveways without causing damage. We can also use plywood boards under the container — just request this when you book.
- What can't I put in a residential dumpster?
- Hazardous materials (paint, chemicals, asbestos), tires, freon-containing appliances, batteries, and electronics are prohibited. General household junk, furniture, carpet, drywall, wood, and most construction debris are fine.
