Why Concrete Requires a Dedicated Bin

Concrete, brick, and asphalt are extremely heavy. A standard 15-yard dumpster filled with concrete can weigh 8–11 tons — far over the 1-ton allowance in a general-purpose bin. Mixing concrete into a standard container triggers overweight fees and can damage our truck.

Our dedicated concrete bins are sized and rated for heavy loads, and we bill by actual weight — no surprise upcharges. This is the honest, transparent way to dispose of heavy material.

What Can Go in a Concrete Dumpster?

Concrete bins are for heavy inert materials only. Keep the load clean for best pricing and haul efficiency.

Accepted Materials

  • Poured concrete (slabs, footings, foundations)
  • Concrete block & CMU
  • Brick and mortar
  • Asphalt and asphalt shingles (dedicated load)
  • Rebar-reinforced concrete
  • Pavers and stone
  • Cinder block
  • Gravel and rock (clean)

Not Allowed (Use General Bin)

  • General trash, wood, or drywall mixed with concrete
  • Hazardous waste or contaminated soil
  • Tires, batteries, or electronics
  • Paint cans or liquid chemicals

Mixing prohibited materials voids weight pricing and results in contamination fees. When in doubt, call us first.

Concrete Dumpster FAQ

Can I mix concrete with other trash?
No. Concrete-only bins must stay clean. Mixing concrete with wood, drywall, or general waste voids the weight-based pricing and results in contamination fees. If you have mixed waste, you need a separate general-purpose dumpster.
How is the price calculated for concrete?
Concrete bins start at $350. Actual weight is billed at $55 per ton at a licensed facility; no ton allowance is included.
What's the maximum weight a concrete bin can hold?
Our concrete bins can safely handle typical pour and demo loads. For very large slabs or full-lot demolition, we may deliver multiple bins or schedule sequential pickups. Call us and describe your project — we'll plan accordingly.
Can I put asphalt shingles in a concrete bin?
Asphalt shingles are accepted only in a dedicated asphalt load — not mixed with concrete. If you need to dispose of both, we'll set up separate containers. Call us to coordinate.
Do you recycle the concrete you haul away?
Yes — clean concrete loads are taken to concrete recycling facilities where they're crushed and repurposed as aggregate. It's better for the environment than landfill disposal.
